Improved mechanized infantry combat vehicle. Features a larger turret with 30mm 2A42 autocannon.
Modern upgrade of the BMP-2. Features the Berezhok turret which adds Kornet anti-tank missiles and AGS-17 automatic grenade launcher to the BMP-2.
Reconnaissance vehicle based on BMP-1 chassis. Features a larger turret and is fitted with observation devices, ground search radar and specialist equipment.
Artillery forward observation vehicle based on BMP-1 chassis. It has a larger turret with observation devices, but lacks cannon and missile armament.
Command and staff vehicle based on the BMP-1 chassis. There is no armament in the turret, but various radios are fitted plus a large telescopic mast.
Armored recovery vehicle based on BMP-1 chassis. Produced in limited numbers, often based on damaged BMP-1's.
The BMD-1 is an airborne infantry fighting vehicle. It is fitted with the same turret as the BMP-1.
Both the West German HS-30 and Soviet BMP-1 are contenders for the first true mechanized infantry combat vehicle to be introduced at scale.
